ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT

Office of the Vice Rector for Wellbeing Project

ABOUT THE

Proposal

Within the framework of the institutional strengthening process and in compliance with the provisions of the 2019–2030 Institutional Development Plan and the 2025–2028 Rectoral Management Plan, Universidad Industrial de Santander is working on the creation of the Office of the Vice Rector for Wellbeing.

This initiative seeks to consolidate an organizational structure that strategically articulates policies, programs, and actions aimed at the comprehensive development and wellbeing of the different sectors of the university community, with a preventive, participatory, and inclusive approach.

As part of the communication strategy, this space has been created to share the main progress of the project and to receive feedback, opinions, and concerns from students, faculty members, and administrative staff.

The active participation of all members of the university community will be essential to strengthen the design of this Office. Therefore, we invite you to review the supporting documents and make use of the available participation channels.

WELLBEING POLICY

FRAMEWORK

The Institutional Wellbeing Policy of Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) seeks to consolidate a culture of wellbeing and “good living” within the university community. Its origin dates back to 2019 and is grounded in the Institutional Project, the 2019–2030 Institutional Development Plan (IDP), and national guidelines on health, education, and labor.

Its purpose is to ensure conditions that promote the development of human capacities, comprehensive education, and community building, recognizing the shared responsibility of all its members.

In 2022, a participatory process was carried out involving 305 members of the university community (faculty, students, administrative staff, graduates, retirees, and associations), who took part in 27 co-creation workshops using the Think-Pair-Share methodology. Based on 529 contributions, a concept of wellbeing was defined that balances human dimensions and promotes equity in access to opportunities.

In 2023, the document was socialized and validated. The policy is structured into eight dimensions derived from national guidelines and institutional characteristics.
