ALLIANCE BETWEEN THE CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE OF UNIVERSIDAD DE BOGOTÁ JORGE TADEO LOZANO, THE COLOMBIAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITIES (ASCUN), AND THE COLOMBIAN NETWORK FOR THE INTERNATIONALIZATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION (RCI)
The Colombian Association of Universities (ASCUN), its Colombian Network for the Internationalization of Higher Education (RCI), and the Confucius Institute of Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano maintain their alliance in 2022 to offer Higher Education Institutions affiliated with ASCUN and members of the RCI the opportunity to begin learning the Chinese language and culture through a beginner-level course.

Forty doctoral scholarships and fifty short postdoctoral research stays have been announced for candidates from universities and institutions that submit applications under bilateral cooperation agreements.

EIFEEL SCHOLARSHIPS
ENIM
Within the framework of the existing relations between Université de Lorraine (ENIM) and Universidad Industrial de Santander, students from the following UIS programs:
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
will have the opportunity to apply for a double degree scholarship (Master of Science in Engineering) offered by ENIM, provided they meet the following requirements:
Students in the 7th, 8th, or 9th semester.
GPA: 4.0 (preferably outstanding students).
French level B1 (officially certified).
English level B2 (officially certified).

Excellence ranking (identified by the number of distinctions a student has obtained throughout the academic program, according to the Undergraduate Student Regulations – Agreement 072 of 1982, Art. 160, numeral 1: “The student who, at the end of an academic period, obtains a semester weighted average equal to or higher than the average of the semester weighted averages of their academic program, plus two point five (2.5) times the standard deviation (…)”)

How to Apply for an Eiffel Scholarship?
Eiffel applications can only be submitted by the university. Therefore, any application will only be validated if a professor from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences agrees to support the candidate’s application. In fact, the Eiffel program is a program of excellence whose access is restricted to students with outstanding academic results; therefore, applications are submitted by the faculty for carefully selected candidates.
The candidate must send the following documents by email to ri.droit@univpoitiers.fr :

Cover letter clearly describing the candidate’s current profile and outlining their study plan in France.
- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- Official transcript of records (for law studies only).
Students from non-French-speaking countries must also submit a C1 level French language certificate.
Any additional document considered useful for the evaluation of the application may be included. All documents must be submitted in PDF format, preferably combined into a single PDF file. Documents written in languages other than English or Spanish must be translated.
The application file will be reviewed by a selection committee in early December in order to meet the deadlines established later by Université de Poitiers and Campus France.

Therefore, applications must be submitted no later than November 19, 2021. Any application received after this date will not be reviewed.
After the selection committee meeting, the Eiffel file to be completed will be sent to the selected candidates. They must return it no later than December 10, 2021, so that the University of Poitiers can officially submit it to Campus France at the beginning of January 2022.

Intership
The Colombian Visiting Researcher Program offers Colombian researchers and professors with a doctoral degree or equivalent research experience the opportunity to join a university or research center in the United States for one academic semester in order to conduct advanced research.
BANCO de la
República
The Banco de la República sponsors graduate programs at foreign universities of recognized academic excellence for five (5) doctorates in Economics, one (1) master’s or doctorate in Economic Law, and one (1) graduate program in Fine Arts at international academic institutions. Its objective is to contribute to the country’s development by promoting knowledge and research and to support the training of Colombian professionals so that the country can have a greater number of highly qualified professors, researchers, public officials, and artists.
Each year, the sponsorship offers seven positions intended for an equal number of Colombian professionals who wish to pursue a graduate program abroad and, upon graduation, return to the country to repay the sponsorship they received by providing services in one of the entities endorsed by the Banco de la República (public entities, universities, and private non-profit organizations dedicated to research in the area of study).

At UIS, these scholarships are aimed at tenured professors who wish to pursue doctoral studies or postdoctoral research stays through a paid academic leave arrangement. EMERGING LEADERS
IN THE AMERICAS PROGRAM (ELAP)
These scholarships are aimed at undergraduate and graduate students who wish to complete one-semester study stays at Canadian universities. To apply, students must be nominated by the Canadian institution where they wish to carry out their mobility. However, students should receive guidance from the Office of External Relations to learn how to contact the university of their interest.
IBERO-AMERICAN ASSOCIATION
POSTGRADUATE STUDIES SCHOLARSHIPS
Through this program, mobility opportunities for graduate students are promoted. The call for applications opens each semester in January and June. Interested applicants must request the letter of endorsement issued by the UIS Office of External Relations.
The scholarship covers travel to the mobility destination.
SANTANDER SCHOLARSHIPS
Universities
The Banco Santander scholarship portfolio offers various types of support. Undergraduate mobility scholarships are approximately 3,000 euros and open in the second semester of each year to be awarded in the first semester of the following year.
Regarding graduate mobility, there are funding programs whose application process is carried out directly on the Banco Santander website. Therefore, we suggest visiting the link published through the Office of External Relations.
GOVERNMENT OF INDIA
Scholarships
Finally, the Government of India offers training courses for professionals. The application process can be carried out through ICETEX or the Universidad Industrial de Santander. SCHOLARSHIPS
Colfuturo offers a program similar to a loan that is forgivable by 50% upon returning to the country and is aimed at graduate studies in any country. To apply, the interested applicant must be in the process of admission to a foreign university. Each year the call for applications opens from January 8 to February 28. For more information, visit the Colfuturo website.
The Fulbright scholarship program is part of the U.S. Department of State and provides scholarships based on academic and professional merit. The call for applications to receive funding for graduate programs in the United States opened on February 25 and will close on May 22. The scholarship outreach team will visit UIS next March 19 at 5 p.m. at the La Perla facilities and will offer an informational session for those interested.
It offers the entire portfolio of study scholarships available for our country. Through ICETEX, organizations and governments from different countries open their training calls through this portal. Contrary to what many people think, this portal not only offers educational credits but also the opportunity to receive free training abroad through funding from foreign governments.

The OAS Academic Scholarship Program (Regular Program), established in 1958, grants scholarships each year for master’s degrees, doctorates, or graduate research leading to a university degree. The Special Scholarships Program for the English-Speaking Caribbean (SPECAF), established in 1983, provides scholarships for the final years of undergraduate studies leading to a degree/licensure for citizens and residents of the English-speaking Caribbean Member States and Suriname. These programs are governed by the Scholarship Procedures Manual.

ICETEX – SUPPORT PROGRAMS
Internationalization
This program supports the development of the internationalization of higher education in Colombia through a set of tools that allow registered institutions to organize in-person and virtual activities with an international focus.
Financial support, offered under a reimbursement modality, is aimed at the participation of national and international experts in activities and events organized or managed, in Colombia or abroad, by higher education institutions (HEIs), associations and university networks, and technical and technological institutions that are part of the ICETEX Reciprocity Program for Foreigners in Colombia.
