ABOUT THE Unit
The agreements established through the Office of International Relations enable the development of joint academic projects, as well as the mobility of students, faculty members, and researchers. They also facilitate research internships, double degree programs, thesis co-supervision arrangements, among other academic cooperation initiatives.
GENERAL Information
The agreements signed by the Universidad Industrial de Santander are arrangements between two or more institutions through which intentions or commitments are established to develop cooperation activities in a planned and mutually beneficial manner.
Framework Agreement
An agreement that establishes general commitments and intentions involving all fields of knowledge within the partner institutions and is implemented through specific agreements.
Scope of Action of the Agreements:
- Mobility of individuals: undergraduate and graduate students, faculty members, researchers, and staff.
- Curricular integration: double degree agreements, thesis co-supervision arrangements, among others.
- Exchange of knowledge and services.
- Development of joint projects.
- Promotion of scientific and cultural events.
- Exchange of information and academic publications.
Specific Agreement
This type of agreement is signed to develop specific programs or projects in which the parties establish defined cooperation commitments. Examples include:
- Academic exchange
- Doctoral thesis co-supervision
- Double degree programs
- Internships and practical placements
- Research projects (with support and guidance from the Office of Research and Extension)

Note: Internship agreements allow students to complete professional internships or social internships as a degree project option. It is important to note that each student must contact the Office of their respective School to request academic guidance and receive the necessary support throughout the corresponding administrative procedures. If required and upon prior request, the digital archive of the Office of International Relations will provide a digital copy of the agreement.

Please note that for internship agreements under the degree project modality, requests must be submitted directly through the corresponding School.
Note 1: For individual national and international agreements related to research internships or thesis co-supervision, please contact the Office of International Relations directly.
Note 2: UIS requires that all agreements be signed in both Spanish and the language requested by the partner institution.
