Excellence

With over seven decades of uninterrupted operation, the undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering—one of the founding programs of Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS)—has become a national benchmark in engineering. This distinction stems from the outstanding achievements of its graduates and its ongoing commitment to advancing the country’s scientific and technological development.

The School of Mechanical Engineering has a strong research focus, supported by two research groups specializing in different areas of knowledge. Both groups are classified in Category A by Colciencias and play a crucial role in our mission to train professionals with high ethical, political, social, and scientific standards.
