Foreign students or those currently enrolled at a university abroad may be eligible for an academic exchange program at the Universidad Industrial de Santander, provided that their home institution has an academic exchange agreement with the UIS.

Apply?
Foreign students or those enrolled at a university abroad may be eligible to participate in an academic exchange program at the Universidad Industrial de Santander, provided that their home institution has an exchange agreement with the UIS.
Step 3
Submit the required documents to the following email: incoming@uis.edu.co
Required
Documents
1. Application form for visiting students at the UIS.
2. Letter/email of endorsement from the home university.
3. Recent academic transcript of all completed coursework.
4. Certificate of Spanish proficiency (B1 level) for non–Spanish-speaking students.
5. Photocopy of national ID card (for Colombian students).
6. Photocopy of the passport biographical data page (for international students).
7. Proof of international medical insurance (for international students) or EPS affiliation (for Colombian students), required once accepted and for the entire period of stay at the UIS.
Note: Research internships may require an agreement. If a new agreement needs to be signed, please send an email to: relextconvenios@uis.edu.co

Virtual
Exchanges
This modality allows students to take courses from the academic programs of partner institutions through virtual platforms, without the need to travel to another city or country. These exchanges have the same academic validity as traditional mobility programs, with the added benefit of being taken from the comfort of home.

Target audience: undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty members, and alumni.
The Virtual Mobility Space in Higher Education is a consortium of higher education institutions that are members of the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (OUI). Each university offers seats in courses or subjects that can be recognized by the home institution, allowing students to participate in virtual mobility according to the consortium’s available offerings on its website. In total, for the second semester of this year, eMOVIES offers 4,972 seats across 1,317 courses.

- Have completed at least 60% of your university credits, according to the exchange regulations.
- Have academic approval to take the course, so it can be recognized at the UIS: Form Fre.15
PILA Academic
Exchange
Academic exchange agreement between ASCUN, ANUIES, and CIN, aimed at promoting the exchange of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty members, researchers, and administrators from universities and higher education institutions (HEIs) associated with the parties. This exchange takes place through the Latin American Academic Exchange Program (PILA), with the purpose of enriching students’ academic, professional, and personal development, promoting the internationalization of higher education, and strengthening cooperation ties among Colombia, Mexico, and Argentina.

Sígueme
Program
The Sígueme Program was created with the aim of providing opportunities for greater academic enrichment and exposure to new regional experiences. Students will have the possibility of engaging in various academic and cultural environments. The agreement has been established among ten nationally accredited universities recognized for their high quality by the Ministry of National Education.

We are pleased to share with you the launch of the academic and research mobility program of the network known as Explora CCYK, within the framework of our Roadmap under Axis 3: “Generate strategies to strengthen the capacities of its members in matters of internationalization of Higher Education, according to national and international challenges”, Specific Objective 3.2: “Create spaces and actions aimed at strengthening the role of member universities and their benefits within the CCYK Network”, Activity Z: “Design and implement a student mobility program of CCYK with a research focus”.

The program’s main objective is to promote and facilitate virtual and in-person mobility processes for technical-professional, undergraduate, and graduate students, as well as academic collaboration among the institutions of the five countries that make up INILAT. We believe that promoting virtual mobility helps democratize exchange opportunities.
