ABOUT THE Officce
Disciplinary Control is a self-regulatory mechanism used by public administration to safeguard the principles governing public service, as well as the purposes of the State and the interests of its members. To this end, it relies on disciplinary law, which consists of a set of substantive and procedural rules that enable authorities to “correct, prevent, and sanction” conduct that violates public service ethics. These rules also seek to ensure “obedience, discipline, integrity, and efficiency” among individuals who have a special relationship with public administration, requiring them to strictly comply with the comprehensive regulatory framework governing their conduct as agents of the State.
The University’s Higher Council established the Office of Internal Disciplinary Control through Agreement No. 070 of 1998, under Law 200 of 1995 (the former Single Disciplinary Code). This office reports to the Rector’s Office, and its current functions are established in Higher Council Agreement No. 006 of January 31, 2022.
