THE ROAD TO

Excellence

The Department of Public Health is a cornerstone in the education of undergraduate health science students, initiating them into the understanding of health problems from a population-based approach, where social and environmental determinants have a significant influence.

At the postgraduate level, the Department of Public Health trains Master’s students in Epidemiology and Specialists in Health Services Administration. These programs are designed for health and administration professionals, offering high academic standards with a social vision within the national context.

The Department of Public Health is one of the Academic Administrative Units with the highest per capita scientific productivity at the University. The research conducted is published in both national and international journals, making it a national reference point for research in environmental health, epidemiological methods, and biostatistics.
